Itajaí – SC

Itajaí is 161 years old, founded on June 15, 1860, with a diverse ethnic background. Today it has about 226,617 inhabitants according to the IBGE. Its name is of Tupi-Guarani heritage: the Indians called it “Táahy”, “Tajay”, “Tajahug”, “Jatahy” and “Itajaí”, the river of stones. .

It is a port city, having the second largest port in Brazil, but it is also a great destination to get in touch with nature, with several beaches to fill your eyes. At sea level, it is a city with beautiful beaches and also a university, with more than 70 higher education courses.
